Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Baby Groot

Thanks Hubert M for the really awesome Toddler Groot image!

I think you’ll find the Guardians of the Galaxy comics to be just as lovable as the movies! You can see where a lot of the inspiration from the films comes from, and the art is just amazing! Any geek is sure to love these Guardians of the Galaxy graphic novels as a gift! Enjoy!

A couple of disclaimers before we get started:

  1. There may be what you consider spoilers ahead.  I have a different interpretation of spoilers than a lot of people.  In my view, if I have told you any major plot twists or hinted at anything big that could ruin the experience, that is a spoiler.  In that vein, there will not be spoilers in this article.
  2. This article is written for the person that loves the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and wants to read the comics that mostly resemble the movies.  If you care about the whole history and origins of Guardians of the Galaxy, which doesn’t really resemble the movies, I would suggest reading Guardians of the Galaxy Reading Order, from the Comic Book Herald.
  3. It is our duty to our readers to always find the cheapest price of any items featured in this post at the time of writing.  With that said, we get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

With the disclaimers out of the way, we first want to say just how awesome both Guardians of the Galaxy movies are.  They are hilarious, and how could you not love the characters? Each one offers a quirky personality you can’t help but love. Sarah especially loves Toddler Groot. Personally, he is just way too cute for me, haha! Somehow this mix of unique characters comes together to form one of my favorite superhero teams of all time.

I can hear all the die-hards groaning now.  Did you read disclaimer 2? This is a great place to start for someone who has just watched the Guardian of the Galaxy movies and wants to read the comics with the same characters you have fallen in love with. Yeah, sure, you will miss a lot of the backstory by starting this late in the story, but it’s a great entry point to fans of the movies!  This is basically just a collection of #1-12 of the Guardians of the Galaxy individual comic books released in 2008 as a graphic novel.  You are not going to believe the art and story in this graphic novel! Out of this world – pun intended!

    Back cover synopsis:
